The Paper Chase

Well, the adoption paper chase has officially begun. I've spent the last 30-ish hours downloading forms, filling out paperwork, and running all over creation to assemble the required documentation for our adoption application. It's a lot of work, but at least I feel like I'm actually accomplishing something. (For the record, I get zero satisfaction out of pumping myself with hormones and repeatedly going "under the knife" for multiple failed IVFs.)

Speaking of IVF . . . my egg retrieval surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning! It's really crept up on me this time, since I've been so busy with our adoption plans. Please keep your fingers crossed that we get at least two eggs!!

Because I've spent all my time compiling our adoption application and preparing to be on bed rest (by stocking up on groceries, doing laundry, getting the house in shape, etc), I've been a very bad blogging buddy the last two days. I currently have nearly 150 unread entries on my Google Reader and I am way behind with my comments. I'm so sorry!

I'll be on bed rest tomorrow, so that should allow me plenty of time to catch up with everyone. In the meantime, please forgive me for being a bad blogger!

Good luck tomorrow. And now the phrase that everyone used to say to me (which never really made me feel better but maybe it will you...) 'It only takes one'.

Wishing you lots of luck tomorrow....SM too!

The paperwork does seem like a lot at first, but once you get started it will go fast.....save copies of everything you complete and order extra copies of any documents that you need from government agencies!

Have a good night...get lots of rest! Hoping this time is the charm!

Oh you and me both on the shopping for food and doing laundry and general chores. I've got everything done except the floors and I'm making DH mow the laws, cause I'm way to uncomfortable mow at this stage. I trigger tonight!

I can't wait to hear how you feel tomorrow. Also glad to know that moving forward with your adoption plans has acted as a distraction from some of the IVF stuff.

Good luck on both fronts.

Ooooh, good luck tomorrow! And happy healing once you get back home. I've gotta admit, I always look forward to some highly-justified couch and stupid DVD time after these procedures.

In a weird way, too, I'm also looking forward to the adoption paperwork. I love organizing things, getting stuff done, seeing tidy piles of progress. That's been one of the most frustrating parts about fertility treatment. Soooo much work, but so little to show for it most of the time. Makes me insane!

ooh-I'm late to the party...hope it went well today and you got two big, fat, healthy eggs (er, or something)

as for the paperchase...dearlordinheaven...I HATED that so much. But I'm not an organizer, nor do I plan ahead or find satisfaction in piles of paper. I was never so happy as the day we sent off the last bit of paperwork and I could wash my hands of that massive to-do list.

good luck with everything!
